Just me

I have never blogged before, nor have thought my life to be so interesting that others would want to read a day by day update on it.  Yet, I find myself here, blogging.  I decided that others may not find my life that intriguing but I may want to look back on it to see how far I have come in life.  I am your average person, nothing too special.  I rent a house and I work like most people.  I was in college for what seemed like forever and I have first a degree in x-ray technology RT (R), AAS and a second degree as a Registered Nurse, RN, BSN.

I have many interests.  I am a strong believer in Christ and I use His life as a model for my own.  My aim is to please my Maker and live a life worthy to be called God's child.

I enjoy traveling and learning other cultures. We can learn so much from other people and cultures.

I am a musician, I play the bass guitar.  I began playing simply because someone I thought was really cool played it.  Not a good reason to begin playing an instrument, but I have since adopted the bass guitar as a love and passion of my own.

I love motorcycle riding.  It is one of my favorite things to do with my Dad.  Waking up, not early in the morning, and going for a long ride stopping only to have a late breakfast at a hole in the wall restaurant.  I just enjoy the freedom of riding.  The exhilaration of riding on the wind.  I love it.

I enjoy reading.  I have not always loved reading though.  When I was younger my mother worked very hard to find books that would be interesting to me so that I could appreciate reading.  It worked and I am now hooked on reading.  Well, I have taken some time off the hobby since graduation.  I was a little tired or only reading and not enjoying other interests.

I love painting.  I always wanted to learn how to paint but never had the time because I was always studying.   I have never had art lessons so I don't know all the rules but I paint and teach myself what I think would work.  I realized that I could freehand draw and paint with acrylic paint quite by accident.  I was going to hire a friend to draw up a picture of a tree and then I would try to paint it.  Well, she is a mother of three and was pretty busy with her own projects so I though, what the heck.  I may as well try it myself, if it does not work at least I tried. To my amazement the picture turned out pretty good.  I have it hanging above my bed still.  I have continued on with painting and other than a picture of Audrey Hepburn that is in my house I have done all the artwork in my house.

I can not look at my art without noticing everything I don't like about it, but I enjoy painting.

I have just learned that I enjoy cooking.  I have always enjoyed baking.  Growing up there were six of us kids.  I was the baker.  I made brownies and cookies because I had/have a major sweet tooth.  The only rule was if I made something I had to clean up the mess.  Brownies is my specialty, not too gooey but not overbaked is a hard line to find.  I was never a fan of cooking because who wanted to spend an hour cooking an cleaning up only to spend 10 minutes eating.  I would prefer to spend the hour studying and then make a grilled cheese or something else rather fast.  Grilled cheese is also a specialty of mine...  As I said, I am learning to love cooking.  I have a couple cooking heroes that inspire me.

Well, that about sums me up.  Not too interesting not too lame just your average person.
